Getting started

Aniimo beginner guide: plan your first expedition

Before you head out

Pick one companion to look for and one reachable area to explore. A small, well-prepared expedition is a more useful starting point than chasing every form or a perfect tier-list team.

Choose a target, not a shopping list

Aniimo combines creature catching with open-world exploration in Idyll. Official descriptions say encounters can depend on the environment, weather, phenomena and time of day. That makes a habitat a starting clue rather than a promise.

Open one field-guide profile, read which form it describes and choose a listed habitat that you can already reach. Our initial collection is deliberately small: six sourced profiles, not a claim to cover every Aniimo.

Pack for the job you are doing

The official game description names Aniipods, traps and timing as part of catching. Use the supplies the game has introduced to you, and read any tutorial you have just unlocked before spending a rare item.

Our preparation suggestion is simple: check your catching supplies, your route back and the exploration ability you expect to use. This is not a hidden in-game requirement or a recommended item count.

Give Twining a practical purpose

Twining lets you take a collected Aniimo’s perspective and use its abilities in exploration and combat. Try one ability against a real obstacle: a climb, a crossing, a puzzle or a fight. Read the Twining guide for a way to compare companions by the job they do.

Keep the smallest useful field note

Record where you searched, the form you saw and a nearby landmark. Add weather or time as an observation, not a rule. Your first trip can still be useful when the target does not appear: you may have confirmed a route or learned which condition needs another check.

Use the catch planner to keep that note on your device. Nothing here requires a game login, and there is no automatic connection to your account.

Good questions.

Does the field guide cover every Aniimo?

No. The first edition covers six specific official-index profiles. The scope is displayed instead of presenting a partial database as complete.

Does a listed habitat guarantee an encounter?

No. A habitat narrows the area, but exact conditions, coordinates and probability require separate evidence.
